The Drewry World Container Index (WCI) rose 5% from the previous week to $4,166 per FEU in Week26, supported by an increase in rates on the trans-Pacific trade route. Swelling 40% year on year, the composite index reached its highest level since September 2024.
On the trans-Pacific trade route, spot rates continued to strengthen, with those on Shanghai to New York rising 6% ($380) to $7,149 per FEU and from Shanghai to Los Angeles, 12% ($608) to $5,750 per FEU.
On the Asia–Europe trade route, spot rates were stable, with those from Shanghai to Rotterdam rising 1% (%50) to $4,392 per FEU, while those from Shanghai to Genoa remained unchanged at $5,759 per FEU.
