26.06.23KCCI Jumps 11.88% Last Week
The latest KOBC Container Composite Index (KCCI) stood at 3,747 points yesterday, Korea Ocean Business Corp. (KOBC) announced on the same day. The index jumped 11.88% from a week earlier as spot rates for container exports from Busan increased on most trade lanes that do not include those within Asia.
On the main lanes, the individual KCCIs were up 17.13% to 5,729 points to the U.S. West Coast, up 13.77% to 6,832 points to the U.S. East Coast, up 14.64% to 4,566 points to Europe, and up 9.78% to 5,768 points to the Mediterranean.
The KCCIs rose across the board on the non-main lanes as well, up 4.57% to 6,681 points to the Middle East, up 8.95% to 2,813 points to Australia, up 14.57% to 7,320 points to the east coast of Latin America, up 12.43% to 5,380 points to the west coast of Latin America, up 4.05% to 3,394 points to Southern Africa, and up 4.11% to 5,045 points to West Africa.
Within Asia, the KCCIs were unchanged at 54 points to China, down 5.03% to 1,096 points to Southeast Asia, and down 4.04% to 214 points to Japan.
