The European Union (EU) has postponed the implementation of the Known Consignor rule set forth in Commission Regulation (EU) No 185/2010 from March 25 to April 29, 2013.
Regulation (EU) No 185/2010 is implementing rules for Regulation No 300/2008 establishing guidelines for civil aviation security in Europe, and was introduced on March 4, 2010 with a three-year transition period.
Under the known consignor regime, only individuals or companies listed as known consignors can declare their air freight consignments secure.
