As of June 1, 2012, Mexican Customs has launched the new paperless environment for customs procedures between Customs and customs brokers. Now, all customs declarations, applications for import/export permits and other commercial documents must be submitted to Customs through ''Ventanilla Unica'' (Unique Window).
Though Customs had performed several tests for three weeks in customs ports in the country before the official implementation, it was reported that there were some delays in several ports due to shorthanded operation and equipment shortages.
