Canada's House of Commons has passed the Restoring Rail Service Act, which would provide for the continuation and resumption of rail service operations at the Canadian Pacific Railway and end the dispute between the railway company and the Teamsters. The bill has been sent to the Senate for debate. Following the Senate’s approval, the bill will go to the Governor General’s Royal Assent. Once the assent was given, the bill will go into effect in 12 hours. This would allow CP's Canadian operations to resume as early as Friday, June 1.
