In January 2012, the throughput of export containers from Japan to China amounted to 892,580 tons, according to a report compiled from statistical data by the Japan Maritime Center.
The total suffered a double-digit decrease from both a year and a month earlier, plunging 11.9% and 26.3%, respectively.
On the other hand, import containers from China to Japan were much more brisk, totaling 2,947,962 tons, which was an increase of 12.9% from both January 2011 and December 2011.
