Intra-Asia Discussion Agreement (IADA) lines announced Monday that they are set to implement rate restoration on October 1, 2011, on a voluntary, non-biding basis.

Under the plan, the freight rate of shipments moving southbound from Japan to other Asian regions will be raised by US$50 per TEU for both dry and reefer containers. On the northbound leg to Japan, the freight rate will be raised in the range of $50-100 per TEU for dry cargo, depending on loading country-wise. For reefer cargo, the increase will be $150 per TEU.
