According to shipping line sources, there will be operation restrictions for import shipments in South The Port of Sendai will play host to the first container service since the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011.

Namsung Shipping Co., Ltd. will on September 26 return to Sendai in its northern Japan/South Korea and China service.

The South Korean carrier will resume a regular call at the port, which was devastated by the March earthquake but has restored its terminal and other cargo-handling functions.

The service will restart the direct transport of cargoes from Sendai to Busan, Ulsan and Kwangyang, South Korea, as well as to Dalian and Qingdao, China.

With transshipment via the South Korean port of Busan, containers will be forwarded to other Chinese ports, Vietnam and Thailand.
