Starting from June 9, 2011, Vietnamese ports will apply electronic customs declarations on a trial basis under Prime Minister Decision No 22/2011/QD-TTG. The ports involved are Hai Phong, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Sai Gon, Hon Gai, Quy Nhon and Nha Trang.
Paperwork will be still accepted, however, within two hours of ships mooring or leaving the ports. Customs will respond to the ship’s requirements in an hour as soon as they receive completed documents.
