Iino Koun, a Japan-Nakhodka service operator, has announced they are introducing ''Fukushima Surcharge'' to absorb extra costs to navigate through Kanmon Strait instead of its regular course through Tsuruga Strait on the way back from Nakhodka, Russia, which passes through off Fukushima Nuclear Power Station. The distance via Kanmon is 190 miles longer than that of via Tsuruga Strait.

The surcharge is US$2.00 per revenue ton, and will take effect on May 1, 2011. It is valid for six months until the radioactive leak at the power station stops.
