India's Jawaharlal Nehru Port, the largest container port in the country, is experiencing serious cargo delays at Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT) due to congestion caused by a go-slow operation by unionized dockworkers and poor rail connections combined with the seasonal bad weather.
According to the Western India Shippers Association (WISA), export gates at the port were not functioning properly and two shipping lines have refused to accept export containers until at least the middle of April.
