Informal Rate Agreement (IRA) lines have announced that freight rates on shipments moving from Japan to the Middle East will be raised by $250 per TEU and $500 per FEC, effective October 1, 2010, in anticipation of an expected upsurge of cargo after Ramadan.
IRA lines are set to increase rates from Asia excluding Japan to the Middle East on October 15 and November 1 by $150 per TEU respectively.
