Dangerous goods will be restricted at ports surrounding Guangzhou in Guangdong Province during 2010 Asian Games scheduled to take place in the city from November 12 to 27, 2010, said Hapag-Lloyd.

The German carrier said on its Website that it had received advice from Port Authorities of Huadu and Lianhuashan (Panyu) in Guangzhou regarding dangerous good restriction with immediate effect. As such restriction is always executed in short notice without grace period, Hapag-Lloyd has stopped accepting all dangerous goods to the following Pearl River Ports surrounding Guangzhou with immediate effect:

- Huangpu (CNHUA)
- Xinfeng (CNXAB)
- Jiaoxin (CNJXN)
- Huadu (CNHUD)
- Xintang (CNXIT)
- Nansha (CNNSA)
- Lianhuashan (CNLIH)

Above is mainly applicable to import DG shipments. For export shipments from the above ports other than Huadu and Lianhuashan, dangerous cargo is still accepted but subject to restriction in short notice, according to Hapag-Lloyd.
