The Iran Port and Maritime Organization (PMO) has issued a circular stating that effective June 5, 2010, all the container agents are requested to submit a warranty letter to PMO container affairs and authorities which received from the consignees. Due to the hot weather season the related consignees must undertake to clear any containerized dangerous goods of IMCO class 3 & 5 maximum within 10 days and should place written guarantee before the arrival of the carrying vessel.
In case of not adhering to this new instruction, the containers would be retained on board and all the cost and penalties arising for the same would be on consignee's account.
