Canada Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (CWTSA) lines have adopted a general rate increase program effective July 1, 2010.

The member carriers will raise rates on all dry commodities by US$160 per TEU, $200 per FEU, and $200 per 45-foot container to all destinations except Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. These increases will apply effective from July 1, 2010 ex Canadian West and East Coast origins and IPI points.

CWTSA also intends to implement rate increases on July 1 for refrigerated commodities pertaining to poultry, beef and pork. Rates for these commodities ex Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg as well as all other IPI points will be increased by US$400 per TEU and $500 per FEU to all destinations except Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with rates for these commodities ex Halifax and Vancouver to be increased by $200 per TEU and $300 per FEU to all destinations except Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Rates to Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka for these commodities ex all CWSTSA origins will be increased by $400 per TEU and $500 per FEU.
