Serious equipment shortages have prompted some South Korean lines to implement a new Container Imbalance Charge (CIC) to cover increasing costs for container inventory.
The charge took effect from mid-April with a quantum of US$30 per TEU for shipments for Southeast Asia and those for North China from Ulsan and Kwangyang.
