The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) recently has submitted "Suggestions for Government of India" to the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, with a view to improving India's business environment and to facilitate Japanese companies' activities in India.
The Suggestions are composed of 10 chapters (land acquisition and utilization, tax system, infrastructure, logistics distribution, visa application procedure, social security agreement, road permit、e-waste, and financing).
Of these, “road permit” involves expedited procedures, systematization of reception desk works, and simplification of required documents. As for logistics distribution, JCCII asked facilitation and acceleration of customs clearance procedures, relief measures against the congestion within inland container depots and traffic congestion near the ICDs, and maintenance of road surface.
