Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority is set to concentrate the handling of dangerous goods in Yangshan Port during Shanghai Expo which will start in May 2010.
According a notice released by the municipal authority, the handling of dangerous goods outside Yangshan Port will be prohibited from April 30, 2010 to October 31, 2010. In case that it is essential to handle dangerous goods in the Waigaoqiao port, the permit from the authority is needed.
From April 15, 2010 to November 15, 2010, when the World Expo security level has reached 1, 2, operations of various types of dangerous goods will be banned in the outer Huangpu River and the upstream region (Yangpu Bridge to the Minhang Power Plant).
