The accumulated volume of containerized shipments moved in ferry services between South Korea and China in the first half (January-June) of this year increased a favorable 7.9% year on year to 291,716 TEUs. Imports from China to South Korea accounted for approximately 68% of the total, which were more than twice as much as exports from South Korea to China, which made up the balance of some 32%.

By major trade route, 27,571 TEUs were carried between Incheon and Weihai, which went up 16.4%; 23,217 TEUs between Inchon and Qingdao, up 1.2%; 19,811 TEUs between Pyeongtaek and Yentai, up 21.9%; 25,411 TEUs between Pyeongtaek and Weihai, up 42%; 23,488 TEUs between Pyeongtaek and Rizhao, up 24.2%; 15,222 TEUs between Incheon and Tianjin, up 3.2%; 25,169 TEUs between Incheon and Shidao, up 25.9% and 40,554 TEUs between Incheon and Shanghai, up 15.1%.
