Myanmar Customs Department teams have reportedly started round-the-clock clearance for import and export shipments at the nation’s gateway port of Yangon since last Thursday with an aim to ease congestion at box terminals.
Serious port congestion has been reported especially at Yangon Port over the past weeks. As a result, some of the ocean shipping lines plying between Asian ports and the Myanmar port are now imposing Yangon Port Congestion Surcharge.
