Vietnam is set to implement a pilot one-stop customs mechanism by the end of the year in a bid to facilitate fast-track customs procedures for exporters and importers. Initially, certain procedures such as registration for ship arrivals and departures will go online o a trial basis.
In the first stage, the pilot electronic administrative system will be linked to the Ministries of Finance, Transport, and Industry and Trade in November. Exporters and importers will be allowed to file through the system necessary documents with ministries and agencies electronically for online processing, approval and issuance of licenses.
