The Drewry World Container Index (WCI) remained stable at $2,287 per FEU in Week14, with rates holding steady on the Asia–Europe and trans-Pacific trade routes. The index was higher by 4% year on year.

Rates on the Asia–Europe trade have stayed flat despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Spot rates from Shanghai to Genoa inched up 2% ($55) to $3,529 per FEU, while those from Shanghai to Rotterdam levelled off at $2,543 per FEU.

On the trans-Pacific route, spot rates from Shanghai to New York increased 1% ($41) to $3,434 per FEU, while those from Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased 1% ($23) to $2,663 per FEU.

On the trans-Atlantic trade, spot rates were stable, growing 3% ($31) to $1,001 per FEU from New York to Rotterdam and 2% ($27) to $1,579 per FEU vice versa.
