Major economies in Europe yielded mixed results in the second quarter (April-June) in the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD)’s Liner Shipping Connectivity Index (LSCI), which was set at baseline of 100 points in the first quarter (January-March) of 2003.
The indices were down 1.4% to 283.5 points in Italy, 0.4% to 265 points France, 4.7% to 176 points in Portugal, 6.6% to 113 points in Sweden, 4.6% to 105 points in Malta, 1.9% to 87 points in Denmark, 1.6% to 76 points in Slovenia and 0.4% to 60 points in Croatia.
In contrast, the indices increased 0.3% to 425 points in Spain, 3.2% to 393 points in the U.K., 1.4% to 385 points in the Netherlands, 1.1% to 347 points in Belgium, 5.5% to 322 points in Germany, 11.1% to 316 points in Turkey and 2.5% to 135 points in Poland.
