The latest KOBC Container Composite Index (KCCI) stood at 2,590 points on Monday, Korea Ocean Business Corp. (KOBC) unveiled on the same day. Spot rates for container exports from Busan plunged on the trades to the U.S. and the west coast of Latin America, forcing the composite index to fall 4.46% from a week earlier.

On the main lanes, the individual KCCIs went down 14.94% to $3,371 per FEU to the U.S. West Coast, down 11.85% to $5,461 per FEU to the U.S. East Coast, up 4.88% to $3,075 per FEU to Europe and down 2.58% to $4,374 per FEU to the Mediterranean.

On the non-main lanes, the KCCIs declined 10.41% to $3,564 per FEU to the west coast of Latin America. In contrast, the indices were up 0.54% to $1,685 per FEU to Australia, 0.19% to $2,641 per FEU to the Middle East, 16.42% to $5,636 per FEU to the east coast of Latin America, 3.06% to $4,411 per FEU to West Africa and 15.29% to $3,378 per FEU to Southern Africa.

In the intra-Asia waters, the KCCIs levelled off at $48 per FEU to China but fell 0.8% to $1,110 per FEU to Southeast Asia and 1.23% to $240 per FEU to Japan.
