The composite Freightos Baltic Index (FBX) 2,422 points in Week 10, down 10.9% from the previous week and 26.6% from a year earlier, Freightos announced on Tuesday.

The FBX01 Weekly index for freight from Asia to the west coast of North America plunged 25% to $2,659 per FEU; the FBX03 Weekly for freight from Asia to the east coast of North America fell 16% to $3,754 per FEU; the FBX11 Weekly for freight from Asia to North Europe picked up 3% to $3,064 per FEU; and the FBX13 Weekly for freight from Asia to the Mediterranean levelled off at $4,159 per FEU.

The FBX is a weighted average index for 40-foot container freight rates and container movement shares on the world's 12 major trade lanes.  

Looking at Freightos Air Index (FAX) fluctuations, those for airfreight from China to North America went down 7% to $4.61 per kilogram; from China to North Europe, down 7% to $3.07 per kilogram; and from North America, unchanged at $2.37 per kilogram.
