The Freightos Baltic Index (FBX) closed at 4,564 points in Week 39, Freightos, which operates a booking and payment platform for international freight, announced on Tuesday. It was down 2.9% from the previous week but up 264.8% from the corresponding week of 2023.

Freight rates for shipments from Asia to the U.S. West Coast (FBX01 Weekly) was down 1% to $6,816 per FEU; from Asia to the U.S. East Coast (FBX03 Weekly); down 3% to $8,693 per TEU; from Asia to North Europe (FBX11 Weekly); down 6% to %5,074 per FEU; and from Asia to the Mediterranean (FBX13 Weekly); down 3% to $5,142 per FEU.

The FBX is a weighted-average index for 40-foot container freight rates and container movement shares on 12 trade lanes.

As for air rates, meanwhile, China-North America weekly prices went up 9% to $5.91 per kilogram; China-North Europe, up 8% to $3.97 per kilogram; and North Europe-North America, up 3% to $1.73 per kilogram.
