Kobe-Osaka International Port Corp. will introduce two large gantry cranes to C-12 Berth of the Port of Osaka’s Yumeshima Container Terminal.
An extension of C-12 became operational in 2017 with a water draft of 16 meters. The extension itself was completed last month and is scheduled to launch full operations within the year. In fiscal 2026, Yumeshima’s main channel will also have a draft of 16 meters in a project advanced by the government of Japan.
By installing the gantry cranes, which will be the largest cranes for the Port of Osaka, Kobe-Osaka International Port Corp. will further raise the convenience of the port and enhance its performance so that it will remain a port of choice.
The installation of the 40.6-ton-capacity gantry cranes, which will have a lifting height of 45 meters and accommodate 20 rows of containers, is slated to begin this fiscal year and become available for use around the end of fiscal 2026.
