The Ministry of Finance (MOF) of Japan is looking for individuals who will work with the Policy Research Institute (PRI) to conduct statistical research for a period of about two years on MOF policies as well as domestic and international economic subjects with export and import declaration data. Those who are interested in the project must apply for it by Nov. 30.

The maximum use of data is stressed in the  2021 Basic Policies for Economic and Fiscal Management and Reform, which was agreed on June 18, 2021 by Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's Cabinet, and elsewhere. As such, the MOF is seeking applicants for 1) research on international trade (including analyses on customs and corporate behaviors) and 2) macroeconomy, international finance and others.

Data available for research are 1) general export declaration data, 2) general import declaration data, 3) manifest export declaration data and 4) manifest import declaration data.
