The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada (ILWU Canada) issued a 72-hour strike notice to the British Colombia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) on Wednesday. ILWU Canada member longshore workers will walk off their jobs at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Container terminals were in operation as usual on Wednesday at the ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert. It is unknown at this point how long they will go on a strike, which is expected to adversely impact terminal operations at the ports as they handle many shipments destined to the U.S.
