The composite World Container Index (WCI) decreased by 3% from the previous week in Week 33, the 25th consecutive weekly decrease, and has dropped by 35% when compared with the same week of last year.
The latest index of $6,224 per FEU was 40% below the peak of $10,377 reached in September 2021 but remained 71% higher than the five-year average of $3,631.
The average composite index for the year-to-date is $8,056 per FEU, which is $4,425 higher than the five-year average ($3,631 mentioned above).
