Container trade between South Korea and eight other countries and regions in Asia shrank 5.3% to 345,700 TEUs in April from 365,100 TEUs a year earlier. There was a year-on-year contraction for three months in a row since February, but from the previous month, there was an improvement of 2% from 339,200 TEUs. South Korea exported 171,800 TEUs, down 7%, incurring a year-on-year decrease for eight months running since September 2021, while imports from the eight economies fell 3% to 173,800 TEUs.
