A total of 2.838 million TEUs of containers were traded between South Korea and China in the first 10 months (January-October) of this year, growing 4.9% year on year from 2.708 million TEUs, according to the Yellow Sea Liner Shipping Council (YSLSC). Direct shipments were robust in both directions. Exports from South Korea to China increased 3% to 986,400 TEUs, while imports from China to South Korea swelled 10% to 1.67 million TEUs. In contrast, feeder containers moved between the two nations were not, plunging 22% to 181,200 TEUs.
