South Korea exported and imported a total of 310,800 TEUs of containers to and from China in March, according to statistics compiled by the Yellow Sea Liner Shipping Council (YSLSC). A double-digit increase of 14% was made from the 273,000 TEUs moved on the route in the same month of 2020. A new monthly record was set, blasting the previous one of 307,300 TEUs hit in October last year.

In breakdown, containers from South Korea to China accounted for 107,500 TEUs; those from China to South Korea, 177,100 TEUs; and those carried in feeder services between the countries, 26,100 TEUs. They all enjoyed double-digit improvements, surging 16%, 11% and 25%, respectively.
