Hong Kong Port handled 1.516 million TEUs in May, down 3.5% from the same month last year, marking a decline for 28 consecutive months. The port’s largest terminal Kwai Tsing handled 1.211 million TEUs, down 7.4%, year on year and other terminals processed 470,000 TEUs, down 24.1%.

For the first five months, volumes overall fell by 6.5% to 7.075 million TEUs. Kwai Tsin saw a 4.6% drop to 5.647 million TEUs and other terminals suffered a 13.5% decline to 1.428 million TEUs.
