Container throughput at the port Singapore increased 1.1% to 31.49 million tons, or 2.2% to 3.2 million TEUs in December 2019.
For the entire 2019, the world's second largest container port saw a slight decline of 0.6% from the previous year to 314.90 million tons. In number, Singapore's container volumes registered a marginal growth of 1.6% to 37.2 million TEUs compared to 36.6 million TEUs for 2018.
