Thailand and Myanmar will start cross-border transport activities by truck by end July following the agreement signed between the two countries in March this year to facilitate the flow of goods across the border.

Both countries have agreed to grant one-year immigration documents for as many as 100 vehicles from each country to transport goods across the border.

The cross-border through overland transport by truck will allow vehicles to connect Laem Chabang Port in Thailand directly to Thilawa Port near Yangon.

Vehicles from Myanmar are required to clear customs inspection at Mae Sot and those from Thailand at Thilawa.
