The number of containers handled at the Kwai Tsing terminals fell 12.9% to 1.626 million TEUs in January, compared to 1,846 million TEUs in the same month of 2018. Boxes handled handled at the Kwai Tsing terminals fell 8.7% to 1.291 million m TEUs, compared to 1.414 million TEUs in January 2018.
Boxes handled at other terminals including the midstream operators fell harder, by 22.5%, to record a throughput of 335,000 TEUs.
