The weekly comprehensive Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI) produced by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) fell 3.4% to 751.13 in the week ended on June 22.
During the week, spot container rates from Shanghai to northern Europe waned 3.2% week on week to US$834 per TEU due to week demand on the trade with a hint of economic slowdown in Europe and those from Shanghai to the Mediterranean dipped 1.1% to $905 per TEU last week.
Likewise, the spot rates to ports on the U.S. West Coast and U.S. East Coast tumbled 5.7% and 2.5% respectively to $1,194 per FEU and $2,181.
