The Port of Kobe handled 2.217 million TEUs of oceangoing containers in 2017 (January-December), which increased 3.6% from the previous year and reached an all-time high, according to preliminary statistics unveiled on Jan. 24 by Kobe City’s Port and Urban Projects Bureau. Breaking down, exports went up 3% to 1.184 million TEUs, and imports, up 4.2% to 1.033 million TEUs.
