South Korea’s trade ports handled 1,180 million tons of shipments in the nine months from January to September, which grew 6.4％ year on year from 1,109 million tons. Containerized shipments were brisk, increasing 5.8％ from 19,343,000 TEUs to 20,459,000 TEUs. In breakdown, exports and imports swelled 7.2％ to 12,151,000 TEUs, while transshipment (T/S) containers hiked 1.6％ to 7,936,000 TEUs. Coastal cargo surged 95％ to 372,000 TEUs.
