Heavy vehicles traffic from Malaysia's Johor to Singapore would be limited to the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link in January 2018. The Second Link is a bridge built to reduce the massive traffic congestion at the Johor-Singapore Causeway.

The State Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Johor government is now studying on a plan to deal with congestion on the Causeway and scheduled to work out a final proposal by the end of the year.

The proposal is expected to include diversion of all lorries bound for Singapore to the Second Link. Also included in the proposal will be a time management scheme which allows lorries to pass the Causeway at a certain time zone of the day.
