Shipping lines have offered a caution to shippers that effective from August 1, 2017 the National Customs Service of Chile requires consignee’s Tax ID (R.U.T.) in addition to its name, address, telephone number or e-mail address.

After a moratorium period three months, if the Tax ID is not included within the consignee information in the B/L, Customs will reject discharging of the shipment in the port designated as a discharging port in the B/L.
