Shanghai Port has posted 8.3% increase in container volumes in June compared to the year-ago period, according to figures released from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).
In June 2017, the world's busiest container port handled 3.4 million TEUs of throughput, up 8.3% from 3.14 million TEUs in the same month of last year.
Last month's volumes were down 4% compared to 3.54 million TEUs in May this year.
For the first half of 2017, the Chinese port has achieved a new record of 19.6 million TEUs, up 9.6% compared to 17.89 million TEUs registered in the same period of 2016.
