Container throughput at the port of Hong Kong rose 10.0% from a year earlier to 1.739 million TEUs in April, marking a year-on-year increase for the three consecutive months. Throughput at the main Kwai Tsing terminals expanded10.5% to 1.379 million TEUs while other terminals volumes climbed by 8.0% on year to 360,000 TEUs.

For the first four months, box traffic at the port surged 12.7% from the previous year to 6.658 million TEUs. Kwai Tsing terminals handled 5,241 million TEUs, up 12.0% year on year and other terminals processed 141,7000 TEUs, up 17.5% from a year before.
