China’s Ministry of Transport recently revealed that a total of 19.596 million TEUs of containers were handled at ports in the nation in April, which increased 7.9% from the corresponding month of 2016. In breakdown, coastal ports were responsible for 17.354 million TEUs, going up 6.6%, while throughput was much more brisk at inland river ports, which surged 18.8% to 2.242 million TEUs.

In the first four months (January-April), combined container lifting was 73.681 million TEUs, which rose 7.7% from a year earlier. Coastal ports processed 65.499 million TEUs, which improved 6.9%, while 8.182 million TEUs were moved to and from inland river ports, which soared 14.9%.
