Member container lines in the Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) have agreed on the need for an across-the-board increase in dry cargo rates, effective January 15, 2015 in a bid to recover eroded U.S-Asia freight rates in the westbound transpacific trade.
The recommended general rate increase (GRI) is in the amount of US$100 per 40-foot container (FEU) for cargo moving from the U.S. The GRI for refrigerated fried potatoes will be $300 per FEU, effective January 1, 2017.
