Member container lines in the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) are recommending a further $600-per-40-foot container (FEU) general rate increase (GRI) for all origins and destinations in the U.S. The recommended GRI is to take effect on November 1, 2016.
The TSA carriers say that overall freight revenues must rise to levels that will address higher costs for long-term rail, truck, equipment management and repositioning of empty containers from the U.S.
