The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) has offered the ocean transportation industry a more efficient option for agreement filing, review, and publication. Vessel Operating Common Carriers (VOCCs) and Marine Terminal Operators (MTOs) have a new option for filing agreements and amendments to existing agreements electronically through the FMC’s new eAgreements system. The eAgreements system is user-friendly and can be accessed 24/7 through the FMC's website.

The first step in the process for using this new system is to visit the eAgreement login page and register for a unique user name and password. Once registration is complete, filers can access the system to file new agreements and amendments to existing agreements. Filers are also able to easily make filing fee payments electronically.

Key benefits of the eAgreements system include:
• Instant confirmation receipt for agreement filing
• Elimination of paper, postage or courier costs
• Faster publication of filed agreements on FMC website
