Member carriers of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) recently unveiled a freight rate restoration plan to raise freight rates by US$600 per FEU on July 1.

As part of its 2016 business plan, the TSA on Jan.1 implemented rate hikes of $1,200 per FEU for containers that its members move to the U.S. West Coast and $1,600 per FEU for those to the East and Gulf coasts. Similar actions were taken on Feb. 1, March 1, April 1 and June 1 as well, all of which increased freight rates by $600 per FEU. The TSA intends to impose a peak season surcharge of $400 per FEU on June 15.
