Shanghai Port recorded a container throughput of 3.01 million TEUs in March, up 2.4 percent over the same month last year while box Traffic in Singapore, the world’s second largest container port, decreased 8.0% year on year in March to 2.5 million TEUs.

For the first three months of the year, Shanghai saw a 1.5 percent decline in box cargo traffic to a total of 8.54 million TEUs compared to the previous year’s 8.67 million TEUs. Containerized cargo at Singapore also fell by 9.0% from a year earlier in the first quarter, to 7.4 million TEUs.
